Challenging, productive, and educational are three words I would use to describe College English 1101. This past quarter has been filled with lots of writing, reading, and just basically English. This class as I stated before has been a challenge for me. At the beginning of this quarter, when we were asked to write an initial reaction paper, I wrote that I was a little shocked with the amount of work I had to do and I was determined to do well. Now, at the end of the class I think I have adjusted fairly well to the amount of work this class required. I think it has prepared me for what college will be like.
My favorite part of this class was probably writing the thesis paper. I liked this best because I learned a lot of fascinating information about my topic, and because it was a topic of my choice, I was actually interested in learning about it.
I learned from this class that I really needed to prioritize and stay “on top” of all the work I had to accomplish. Looking back, this is something I probably could have done better on. This class was also a challenge because I tried not to write like I always had, but I tried to “step outside the box” and try different writing styles. To future students, I would advise them to “step outside of their box” and really push themselves to do their best while taking advantage of this experience.
